Variations on The People United will Never be Defeated

Don’t miss the Pittsburgh stop of the US tour of The People United by the renowned Italian pianist Emanuele Arciuli, a specialist of US 20th century composers, with pieces written for him by such masters as George Crumb, Milton Babbitt, and Fred Rzewski himself.

Mr. Arciuli performs The People United at 7:30pm

Allen Otte, percussion

The Fall of the Empire, a collection of pieces written with and for percussionist Allen Otte over 15 years, on quotes by Thomas Jefferson, texts from Rzewski and Otte themselves, passages from Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, Charles Dickens, … A kind of drama and yet another retelling of that story for the 21 st century.

Mr. Otte performs The Fall of the Empire at 6pm
